Crystal Instruments Highlights Vibration Testing Solutions at The Battery Show 2026
Crystal Instruments recently exhibited at The Battery Show North America held in Detroit, Michigan, one of the largest industry events focused on battery technology, electric vehicles, energy storage, and advanced manufacturing.
Throughout the show, the CI team met with engineers and organizations working on battery development, validation, environmental testing, and production. We showcased Crystal Instruments solutions for dynamic signal analysis, vibration testing, predictive maintenance, and closed-loop shaker control, while discussing how these technologies can support increasingly demanding battery test programs.
CI was also joined by Sentek Dynamics, allowing attendees to see how our vibration control systems integrate with both small and large electrodynamic shakers for environmental and durability testing. The combination provided an opportunity to discuss complete test solutions rather than individual pieces of equipment.
The Battery Show generated a strong mix of new prospective customers, active opportunities, and conversations with existing customers and partners. The event also provided valuable insight into the rapidly growing battery testing market and the requirements engineers are facing as battery systems continue to increase in size, complexity, and performance.
Many of our discussions with booth visitors focused on finding the right testing equipment based on the size and requirements of the components they needed to test. One engineering leader at a Michigan-based lithium-ion battery system manufacturer explained that his team already runs a large shaker for subassembly work but sends full pack testing to an outside test house. He was looking for a smaller system to handle component-level vibration testing in-house, alongside the equipment they already have. On the other hand, the co-founder of a Texas custom battery pack company came by with a clear need: a compact desktop shaker and controller for battery packs weighing only one to one and a half pounds.
These conversations created similar feedback to the thoughts of other visitors throughout the show. Battery developers, contract engineering firms, and component suppliers were all looking to bring more of their validation testing in-house, and they need systems that fit their specific parts rather than one-size-fits-all equipment. With Crystal Instruments controllers paired with Sentek Dynamics shakers ranging from benchtop to large-force systems, we were able to talk through options for each application.
Overall, the show was a productive opportunity to expand Crystal Instruments’ presence within the battery and EV industries and develop relationships that we expect to continue building in the months ahead.
