8-Shaker MIMO Vibration Test System: Advanced Multi-Input Multi-Output Control for Structural Testing
8-shaker MIMO vibration test system
At our Santa Clara headquarters, the Crystal Instruments engineering team has constructed an 8-shaker MIMO vibration test system to demonstrate advanced multi-input multi-output (MIMO) control capabilities. This tabletop platform integrates eight coordinated shakers arranged around a central test structure, allowing us to reproduce complex excitation patterns and investigate sophisticated vibration control strategies.
Each shaker is independently driven and precisely synchronized through our control architecture, enabling the system to generate highly controlled spatial vibration fields. The configuration allows engineers to demonstrate and validate advanced techniques such as:
Multi-shaker coordination and phase control
MIMO FRF identification
Distributed excitation of structures
Complex vibration field reproduction
Advanced modal and structural response testing
This is the most sophisticated multi-shaker configuration we have assembled to date, serving as both a research platform and a powerful demonstration of modern MIMO control technology.
If you are interested in seeing the results, learning about the control algorithms involved, or discussing how similar architectures can be applied to your testing challenges, please contact Crystal Instruments. We would be happy to share more details.
